We can’t go places right now, but His Word can

We can’t go places right now, but His Word can

Today is a special day. It’s Good Friday. It’s truly TGIF. And Jesus is truly the GIFT.
And on this special Good Friday, we may not be able to go places, but we can tune in to hear the Word preached online! And that’s what we did. Our youth pastor mentioned how we might be feeling imprisoned in our homes and rooms during this time, but that Jesus was nailed (imprisoned, if you like) to the cross to set us free. We are perhaps physically “stuck”, but we are spiritually FREE and loved.

God’s Word Can Go Places

This talk about prison stirred my heart and brought a treasured verse from the Bible to remembrance. It’s so good, and it has ministered to me time and again.

“… I’m sitting in jail for right now—but God’s Word isn’t in jail!”

2 Timothy 2:9 (MSG)

Oooh, isn’t it so powerful!?

Paul is sharing from the jail that God’s Word isn’t!! From prison, Paul wrote epistles that we are still reading today!!

There have been times in my life where I’ve felt so, so stuck and restricted. That’s when this verse breathes fresh life into me. We may feel – and even be – stuck; But God’s Word never is! His Word is alive! His Word is powerful.

Let The Word Loose

In the midst of our “prison”, we are free to receive the Word, speak the Word, share the Word, minister the Word, share our testimony, preach the good news, let the Word loose!

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)

That’s why I love this #My30DaysofSLOW, because together – in the midst of our “stay at home” season – we are sending The Word/Jesus forth (!) as we point to Jesus and His love for us. Jesus is so ready to bless and heal.

We can’t go places right now, but His Word can!! He transcends time and space.
